TO SUPPORTERS OF THE TRADE POLICY RESEARCH CENTRE
As Chairman of the Strategy Committee of The Trade Policy Research Centre, is it my sad duty to advise you that Ronald Stewart-Brown, our Director, passed away on 2nd November.
He had been diagnosed with cancer in the early summer and had appeared to respond well to chemotherapy. Indeed, he attended one of our regular meetings as recently as 13th October. However, his health deteriorated rapidly and, maybe thankfully, the end came swiftly.
Over the last 10 years, Ronald had become one of the most respected and knowledgeable experts on international trade and it is a cruel irony that, following the General Election and the decision to hold the European Referendum, he will not be able to contribute to the debate. He has, however, left an impressive body of research and comment and whilst we have decided to close the office, we felt that we should keep this website open for a further year to allow access to his research.
